Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours)

Duration: 4 Years (2 years at PSGIAS and 2 years at Deakin University, Australia)

The PSG IAS–Deakin Construction Management programme allows students to study the first two years of Deakin University’s Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) at PSG IAS in India. Students follow the same curriculum as in Australia, ensuring consistent learning outcomes and a seamless transition to Deakin, Australia, where they will complete the third and fourth years of the programme.

The programme offers an Australian-focused teaching approach, ensuring PSG IAS students are well-equipped for academic success upon transferring to Deakin. By studying closer to home during the first two years, students will also save on tuition fees, accommodation, and living expenses.

Graduates of the Construction Management programme will earn a globally recognised degree from Deakin University.

The Construction Management programme is a multidisciplinary professional course designed to provide students with a strong foundation in construction engineering principles while progressively developing in- depth expertise in project planning, cost control, construction technology, and infrastructure management.

The curriculum seamlessly integrates fundamentals of civil engineering, construction materials, structural systems, and building services with advanced studies in project scheduling, contract administration, risk management, and sustainable construction practices.

The programme emphasizes modern construction methodologies, digital tools such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), project management software, quantity surveying techniques, and construction analytics. Students gain practical experience through site visits, industry-oriented projects, case studies, and hands-on training in areas such as estimation and costing, procurement management, quality and safety management, and construction planning. Alongside technical and managerial competence, the programme focuses on leadership, stakeholder coordination, financial management, legal and regulatory compliance, and sustainable infrastructure development. This ensures graduates are well prepared to manage complex construction projects, optimize resources, mitigate risks, and contribute effectively to the development of resilient and sustainable built environments.

Deakin University’s Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) is offered at the Geelong Waterfront and Melbourne Burwood campuses.

Students in the PSG IAS-Deakin Construction Management programme may transfer to either campus to complete their degree.
