The Biomedical Engineering + Electrical Engineering (5-Year Dual Major Programme) is a multidisciplinary engineering course designed to provide students with a strong foundation in core engineering sciences while progressively developing in-depth expertise at the intersection of biomedical systems and electrical engineering technologies. The curriculum seamlessly integrates fundamentals of mathematics, physics, circuit theory, electronics, signals and systems, control engineering, and electrical machines with specialized studies in biomedical instrumentation, medical electronics, bio-signals and imaging, sensors and transducers, embedded systems, and healthcare technologies.

The programme emphasizes modern design, analysis, and simulation tools, system integration, and data-driven engineering approaches, along with exposure to medical device design, clinical engineering, healthcare informatics, rehabilitation engineering, and regulatory standards for medical technologies. Students gain extensive practical experience through well-equipped laboratories, interdisciplinary projects, and industry- and hospital-oriented training in areas such as biomedical signal processing, medical imaging systems, wearable and implantable devices, power electronics for medical applications, automation in healthcare, and smart diagnostic systems. Admission to PSG IAS, India

  • Completion of 12th grade with at least 80% from any recognized education board (IB, ICSE, ISE, IGCSE, CBSE, or State Boards), or a diploma with an overall score of 80%.

Eligibility to progress from PSG IAS to Colorado State University, USA

  • TOFEL score of more than 80(out of 120) or IELTS overall score of 6.0 (with no band score less than 5.5)
  • Maintain an overall CGPA of 7.5 or higher prior to joining the Deakin University
